Description
The MXnet 48 Port Network Switch is the center from which all other MXnet Ecosystem platform components revolve. The AC-MXNET-SW48 (and also AC-MXNET-SW24) pack a serious A/V performance punch with the addition of AVPro Edge’s proprietary design and engineering efforts. This isn’t your father’s network switch, and it’s also not just a simple re-configuration of multicast switch components. The AC-MXNET-SW48 includes a whole new AVPro-developed network switch operating system (NOS) designed to reduce multicast processor loads and adds unique AVPro developed Intelligent A/V Processing (IAVP) technologies for more efficient multicast routing.
The AC-MXNET-SW48 Network Switch is only one part of the MXnet Ecosystem that includes Encoders, Network Switches, Control Processors, and other various components designed to facilitate the building of a custom A/V distribution system. MXnet’s Ecosystem includes formatting such as resolution scaling, full EDID management, multifaceted video walls, and includes the MXnet MENTOR setup and control tool - making installations easy on the integrator, while also presenting a major WOW factor for your client.
Fast Switching – Enjoy almost instant source-to-source switching to any receiving endpoint. On average, MXnet switches the same timing and resolution sources in less than 2 seconds with zero black frames.
Low Latency – The average latency time between audio and video onset is around 35ms. Anything 40ms or less is invisible to human eyes and ears. We tested thoroughly and found that different signal types can play a role in latency, so we have our findings listed here:
MXnet Point to Point (HDMI or Decoder Analog Out)
Less than or equal to 33MS (1Frame)
MXnet Encoder (Non-Downmixing/2CH PCM Only)
Less than or equal to 1MS
MXnet Encoder (AVDM)
Less than or equal to 60MS
60MS achieved only when downmixing HBR audio (Dolby TrueHD or DTS Master Audio), usually less. It should be noted that anything less than 100MS is considered unnoticeable.
IAVP ( Intelligent A/V Processing ) – We re-engineered and optimized every system module that impacts multicast processing. That includes a complete reworking of IGMP, Jumbo Frames, Spanning Tree, and multicast filtering.
MXnet NOS (Network Operating System) – Multicast CPU utilization has been completely reworked, resulting in amazing efficiencies. Processor loads will never exceed 40% even when the switch is fully populated. System boot times take 1 min 45 sec from a cold power up to full functionality, including POE device power-up.
