AC-EXUSB-3-KIT

100M USB 3.2 Gen 1 Extender Kit

Description

The AC-EXUSB-3-KIT inputs four USB devices via USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A female ports, and with proven stable HDBaseT technology, transports any combination of up to four USB 3.2 Gen 1, 2.0, 1.0 signals to a distance as great as 100 meters (328 feet) using CAT 6A (HDBaseT recommends CAT 6A; CAT 5e may also be used, but the total extension distance may be decreased to about 70 meters).

The Device end of this two-piece extension kit conveniently functions as a hub, connecting as many as four peripherals in any combination to the strategically located Host unit. Mixed USB signal standards may be used simultaneously,  complementing the A/V pedigree of the AC-EXUSB-3-KIT. The kit’s compact form factor and your choice of which unit to power from makes for easy placement possibilities.

AVPro Edge is an expert in extending HDMI signals, able to send demanding 8K content an industry-best of nearly 1,000 feet flawlessly. However, USB signals are a different breed, with USB 3.X limited by passive cabling to a mere nine feet. Yikes! But our video heritage comes to the rescue when nine feet won’t do.

Our understanding of the precision necessary for successful packetized data transport was honed during the development of the AVPro Edge MXnet AV-over-IP Ecosystems. Add to that the intrinsic library of knowledge gained from the ground-up engineering of our best-in-class network switches, all of which carries over to all AVPro Edge products tasked with data packetization and throughput transport extension. Office and Huddle Room Conference Soundbars present an inordinately burdensome load on USB extension devices, combining microphones with speakers for audio, 4K web cameras, and computer interoperability via USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity, all hauntingly similar to AV-o-IP. The AC-EXUSB-3-KIT excels at being tasked as the USB pipeline to deliver these signals safely and unaltered to any location in the largest meeting areas.

Extend Any USB Signal: Signals from USB 1.0, 2.0, and 3.2 Gen 1 standards may be mixed and sent simultaneously over the AC- EXUSB-3-KIT. All USB ports on both the Host and the Device are robust USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type. The AC-EXUSB-3-Device features additional use as a hub, tethering multiple peripherals to the host computer.

Optimized for Conferencing Codecs: DisplayLink supports easy connections between computers and displays regardless of brand. At the same time, Framesync matches USB 2.0 and USB 3.X data transfers to maintain sync even in mixed, simultaneous use amongst all four ports.

Power over Cable: Select an end to apply power to the kit, and the second device is automatically via bidirectional PoC through the connecting Category wire. This flexibility packaged into the compact form factor enables perfect planning for clean installations.

5 Gbps Bandwidth: USB 3.0 SupersSpeed Gen 1 architecture provides full-duplex data transfers. Ample 5 Gbps bandwidth for 4K cameras, Codecs, and Conference Room Soundbar systems.

Linked By Category Cabling: CAT-6A is recommended for HDBaseT devices to perform optimally and should be used whenever a new wire is pulled. CAT 5e, prevalent in many existing situations, may also be used. However, the overall transmission distance is reduced to about 70 meters.

User-selectable USB 5-volt Switch: When set to ‘HOST’ (thought of as ‘Follow Host’), disconnecting the 5V connection from the HOST unit will cause the DEVICE unit to drop the 5V Vbus output, decoupling peripherals through ‘Surprise Removal’, allowing a new device negotiation for each connection.  For systems requiring a constant 5V connection to the peripherals, the ‘ON’ position maintains a constant 5V Vbus output on the Device unit.
